As I prepare for my annual 4th of July trip to Nantucket, we are taking a look back at my Summer ’18 trip.
In a nod to east coast preppy of summers past, enjoy sailor motifs accented with vintage block prints and tonal geo’s. It’s nostalgia with a modern twist! Essential KK table-top, hostess gifts, home decor and the perfect all season leggings. Check out shots from KK’s summer kick off lobster clam bake in Nantucket with family & friends.
The color & charm of Nantucket are the inspirations for the KK summer collection. Enjoy!
There so many things I love about Austin, but one of my favorite things Austin has to offer is the amazing street art. People come from all over to see the creative wall art done by talented local artists. I’ve been wanting to do a mural tour for years now – and when I saw my friend and fellow creative Carrie Colbert’s Austin Mural Tour I was so inspired!
Carrie Colbert of carriecolbert.com is an inspiring women who started the “More Color, Please” movement, a movement focused on adding color back into every aspect of life.
After 17 years working in the energy industry, Carrie left the corporate world behind to embrace her creative side. In addition to being an author, investor in numerous female-founded businesses, and a champion for multiple philanthropic causes, Carrie also is a proud mom to her daughter Elle.
Wall 2: Colorful Stripes House at 508 Tequila Bar Location: 508 E. 8th Street, Austin, TX 78701 Carrie’s Note: Colorful stripes and tequila? A winning combination! Stop by this laid back tequila bar for a drink and photos.
Wall 3: Blue and White Diagonal Stripes Location: 1500 W. North Loop Blvd, Austin, TX 78756 Carries Note: Wall is very tall and design wraps around the building. You’ll find these fun stripes on the north and west sides of the building.
Wall 4: Purple Stripes at Parts & Labour Location: 1704 S Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78704 Carries Note: Note: Sadly, this business has now been demolished for a new development. Nevertheless, we had to include it, as it was a favorite of ours from the Austin wall scene.
Since its re-development, you will still find amazing wall art in this location. We stopped by to see the new art work that has since be created. The wall has many different sections with different color stories throughout
Wall 5: Yum, Fresh mural at Steel City Pops Location: 3001 Guadalupe St, Austin, TX 78705 Carries Note: Particularly during the hot summer months, you’ll find a snack at Steel City Pops especially refreshing! Wall faces south, so it’s often in sun, but that only enhances the summery feel of the location.

Celebrating love is easy when you are surrounded by amazing people. Valentine’s Day generally revolves around a person’s significant other, but in the past few years, Galentine’s Day evolved. Celebrating the love of the women in your life is something we can get behind. We are lucky to be a team full of wonderful girls and one amazing male intern (Hey, Javier!). Here’s a look into our Team DIY Galentine’s Happy Hour.
Inspired by Pinterest, we made a hand-painted table runner that turned out so cute and chic. Our goal for this event was to put a creative, non-cheesy spin on classic Valentine’s decorations.
Place cards are always a fun way to spice up a table display. We used our Goddess Folded Notecards cut in half to make DIY place cards.
You can’t forget to get a little gift for all your girls. We all got Love Collection Journals in our favorite Katie Kime prints and monogram. Monogrammed gifts are always a great way to make your gift personalized and feel special.
Founder Naomi Seifter started her wildly popular health food and drink concept Picnik in 2013 in a shipping container on Austin’s South Lamar Boulevard. It quickly became the go-to spot for grabbing to-go gluten-free breakfast and lunch items, butter coffee, and bone broth. She opened her first brick-and-mortar restaurant in 2016, and it’s now a buzzing spot from the sunny morning breakfast (the harvest hash with change your life) to the dimly lit cocktail hour. We took a seat at the bar to learn the secrets to their low sugar take on a margarita.
Wearing our Tye earrings in black, bartender Taylor Trees mixed up the tasty concoction. When it comes to cocktail ingredients at Picnik, they take the same approach as they do with food when it comes to sourcing the most fresh and clean ingredients, like potato vodkas and gins paired with muddled fruits and herbs and a house-simple syrup made from pure maple syrup and raw, local honey. And, keeping things seasonal is a priority. Think warm citrus, spiced butternut and maple for fall and winter, and bright berries and herbs for spring and summer. Cheers for this margarita (which is always in season in Austin)!
