It’s time to unwind.

Here’s what the Katie Kime team likes to do for their favorite down time activities.

KATIE KIME

FOUNDER, PRESIDENT, CREATIVE DIRECTOR

My favorite way to unwind is undoubtedly a bubble bath. I take one every single evening either after work and before I start dinner or after dinner when all the days’ chores are complete. A book and a glass of wine are usually in hand too and it is my most cherished alone time in a day. Lollia bubble bath is my absolute favorite (https://www.lollialife.com/collections/bath-and-body-bubble-bath) and Le Labo candles (preferably The Office) always make for an even better soak.

NATALIE MOORE

CPO, PARTNER

My downtime consists of writing poetry and taking long walks around the lake. ;)

No seriously, I have 3 great downtime scenarios that I look forward to.

Nights alone: I send my kids to grams and curl up on the couch in my favorite pajama pants with my magazines that are stacked 10 high and put on a terrible romcom (most recently 50 shades of something awful) or Friends and drink wine.

Mid week release: I play indoor soccer late at night after the kids go to bed and have a few beers to celebrate what is most likely the greatest victory of my lifetime, making it through another game uninjured.

Driving in the car: I spend a lot of time in the car and now I pretty much only listen to podcasts. They are so funny, inspiring, creative, and just relax my mind from thinking about all the other things I could be worrying about. Some great ones are How I Built This, Criminal, Radio Lab, and This American Life.

ASHLYNN McGEE

TO THE TRADE PROGRAM MANAGER

I often spend my down time doing as many relaxing activities as I can. This would include hot yoga, spa days, and snuggling with my pup Teddy. Weather pending, spending time on the lake is one of my favorite things to do in Austin. Happy Hours at Uchicko or Sway are almost always a weekly occurrence. I also love comedy shows and try to catch as many as I can in Austin or on one of my frequent trips to NYC. In my opinion there’s no such thing as too much laughter.

LINDSEY ROBB

WHOLESALE PROGRAM MANAGER + MARKETING

I like to spend my down time enjoying the great outdoors.  I am not great at sitting still, so any sunny weekend you can find me kayaking or paddle boarding on Lady Bird Lake. I’ve gotten really into the paddle board yoga classes and am working to perfect a fully extended handstand once the weather warms up.

Cooler days I spend hiking with my dog, Toast, in the Greenbelt or in one of the beautiful parks of Texas Hill Country.  Nights are best with friends, some good wine and a fire pit if possible.  The farther away from city lights so you can see the starry sky, the better.

STACEY McINTYRE

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

My down time usually consists of long walks through Brentwood with my dogs. Wine tasting in the Texas Wine Country. Finding the next great Austin food adventure with the beau. Listening to true crime podcasts, or the like (SSDGM!). Curling up on the couch watching foreign movies and eating cheese fries (mmm-mmm!). Hiking or playing basketball, are my more energetic down time activities.

TONI ELKINS

OFFICE MANAGER + EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

In my down time I like to curl up on the couch, watch some type of drama movie (or a recent episode of Real Housewives, don’t judge) and drink a nice glass of Pinot Noir. On weekends I love biking with my family to the Wildflower Center and exploring all that the center has to offer. So many hiking options and new flowers are constantly blooming. We have a little Burley Bee we call her “chariot” that my husband pulls behind his bike so it’s always a fun adventure. I also love making torn paper art when I’m feeling crafty for downtime.

MOLLIE OGILVIE

STORE SALES MANAGER + MARKETING

In my free time I try to take full advantage of all Austin has to offer. You’ll find me catching a last minute concert, grabbing drinks or food with my friends at one of my favorite dives, or enjoying the best Mexican Martini in all of Austin (Santa Rita’s, for the record!) On nights in, there’s nothing I love more than a mini movie marathon paired with a bottle of wine and good company. When I need a break from the busy city life, I head out to Burnet and spend time with my family on the lake, try to catch up on my long list of must-reads, and just enjoy the quiet!
